Google Nearby Share App for Windows

Google has officially launched its Nearby Share app for Windows PCs, streamlining file sharing across various devices like phones, tablets, and Chromebooks. Despite being in beta since March 2023, the app has seen over 1.7 million installations and facilitated the transfer of more than 50 million files between PC and Android devices.

With the official release of Nearby Share for Windows, Google brings in new updates to enhance the app's functionality. Users can now see estimated transfer times for larger files, like videos and folders, providing insights into sharing speed. Additionally, image previews within device notifications offer assurance in sharing the correct files.

In a recent blog post, Google's Spokesperson shared their commitment to continuous improvement of Nearby Share for Windows, taking feedback into account. To get started, users must enable Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on their PCs. Afterward, they can easily share files by dragging them into the app or right-clicking and selecting the Nearby Share option, which is suitable for devices within 16 feet of each other.
