In a recent announcement, luxury German car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz revealed its plans to integrate OpenAI's ChatGPT chatbot into its vehicles. Through a beta program for the Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) feature, drivers can now access AI-driven voice commands and an array of additional capabilities.

Scheduled to run for three months starting from Friday, June 16, the popular ChatGPT chatbot is coming to its cars via the Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service to enhance the existing "Hey Mercedes" voice assistant feature launched in 2018 on the Mercedes-Benz A-Class. By enabling greater variance in voice outputs, the MBUX voice assistant will provide users with more natural and adaptable interaction.

Through this enhanced functionality, drivers are now able to:

• Play their favorite music

• Set up navigation directions

• Fine-tune the temperature of the car

However, it's worth mentioning that this initiative is limited to the United States market, and the voice commands are designed to work exclusively within the car. Furthermore, drivers who wish to participate in the beta program can easily get started by inquiring about it directly from their vehicle.
